America´s Highway: Oral Histories of Route 66

America´s Highway: This supervised work about a part of America´s history includes maps, pictures and interviews. The authors and researchers Jay Crim and Shekar Davarya drove across Route 66 to collect data from Chicago to Santa Monica. Various interviews illustrate the history and being on Route 66, from east to west. The authors give instructions how to find places, like original sections of Route 66, or where to sleep in a wigwam. Photos show graffittis or old gas stations, and a Cadillac Ranch, which was installed by a the millionaire Stanley Marsh.
