Well, I don't believe that a taser would actually kill a normal person--unless that "normal" person had been previously abusing substances that would place him/her at a risk of being killed by such a low voltage.
However, I do agree with you at how "cruel" tasers can be. I didn't witness the event live (rather, it was a description that was supposed to be a "writing experiment")...but it's really saddening that a person who did not violate any laws of any sort would be tasered like that...and in front of a Presidential candidate and a public audience at that!

Anyways, I'd like to thank you for sharing the "Bloggers Against Abuse" challenge--it looks quite interesting. Perhaps I might participate as well. Thanks for commenting (:

1 Over here they said the voltage would at 50.000, as much as I remember. However, voltage of any kind affects the rythm of the heart.
2 Those arrows have barbed hooks: These things are not even used for animals, anymore.
3 You say, that people, who use substances ... however: Did you already hear, that 80% percent of the Western Society cannot be called healthy? Not everybody is sporting daily or thrice a week, depressions are called a common illness (don´t know the term in English) and all these people have to take medication. Let me say it the other way round: Do you know people, who are "top fit" and take no medications among the average population?
3 To me it is a nowadays kind of torture, in result people will say - as it always was, in early times, too - what they are told to say.
4 Finally, it is a matter of humanity, persuasiveness, reasoning and ability to assert.
